Inspired by light at the break of dawn, industrial art, and Radiohead buzzing from speakers, Yura is a traffic-stopping, head-turning ‘angelic beast’ that has been completely re-designed, re-engineered and transformed into an urban fixed gear ride. Its 1970s Panasonic 10-speed road frame has been given a complete overhaul – with full fabrication and modification works done, and fitted with vintage MX lever, 1960s Milano Stem and dropbar, Brooks Swift saddle, with the added touch of copper dust painted rims and pristine white carbon bar tape.

Clearly billed as an all terrain bike when it was built in the 80s, this little known L’egg bike has inspired even the biggest of Scandinavian bicycle companies today. Béton is fully reconditioned and custom build with a vintage Minoura carrier rack, Kenda Klaw tyres as well as a custom made handlebar. Key features includes Sachs hub gears, ultra rare Ritchey Logic brakes and a sleek internal shaft-drive. Though minimalist and practical in its approach, Béton is a fierce, hard-rocking beast when it hits the road.

Brie sees the world in a dreamlike, metaphorical and poetic way. Specially handcrafted using cromoly steel tubings, this charming ride is build as a miniature version of Vanguard’s Churchill bike. Scaled down to a smaller frame size, Brie is fitted with front and rear brakes, maple wood grips, a plush Brooks saddle and spins effortlessly on a 700c front tyre. Use it as an alternative commuter or just ride for the fun of it, Brie takes you on a different kind of journey every time.

Tuck deep within Vanguard’s atelier was a N.O.S 1970s Tange ladies frame. Mercredi was specially built into a lovely city ride. Dressed with similar N.O.S. parts and componentry from the 1970s for an authentic look and feel. With its delicate look and lightweight feel, Mercredi is ready to go the distance.

Corso is custom build from a rare 1985 Olmo Time Trial frame and is fitted with similarly rare componentry from Gipiemme headset and bottom bracket to a Cinelli stem and a Campagnolo pista crank. An urban assault machine with its short wheelbase and responsive feel, Corso is a marriage of old world Italian craftmanship with new world custom soul culture.

Like it says on the frame ‘World Champion ‘87’ – this bike was originally built as a commemorative piece to Steve Roche’s triple-winning Battaglin. Custom-built from a N.O.S 1987 Battaglin frame, Simone will now take on the joys and freedom of mobility in the urban context. This beautifully lugged Columbus Cromor frame now runs on 700c commuter tyres that spin effortlessly in single-speed style, Aero drop bar for the cockpit and a slim carbon saddle.

Iden was inspired by early evening rides in Brighton, where cool breeze and light from the south western sky of British coast is magical. Hand crafted from Nervex lugs and Columbus Spirit tubing at Vanguard’s atelier, this ride was specially created for our friend John. Fitted with Aerospoke front and rear rims, a 52:20 gearing ratio (you know we dig big cranks!), nicely fitted ‘E’ brake at the rear and a vintage Radio Flyer handlebar, Iden is setup as a fast and nimble ride in all urban conditions.
