Kestrel was the first company in history to produce a fully molded one piece composite monocroque mountain bike frame that is not welded or glued. It is also the first company to launch carbon fibre technology into the world of mountain bikes. This method was a key asset for Kestrel in frame technology then and now. The MXZ frame was tested for its strength and durabilty and the results were mind blowing. Reaching the 800,000 cycle mark, no other bike frame of any material has ever passed even the 500,000 cycle mark. Produced in limited numbers and painted in its iconic Zalotone Granite finish, it was sold as a frame set and comes with a one-inch Tange Prestige fork. Now comes a special release from Vanguard with a fully custom built 1989 Kestrel MXZ. With meticulously selected choice parts and components from the same era, Vanguard's Kestel MXZ comes rocking with a Girvin Elite Cross Link Fork in matching grey finish, Noleen suspension, Thud Buster Titanium seat post, Ritchey Logic headset, Kore stem and XT brakes & derailleurs just to name a few. Keeping to the theme of the frame's material, Spin composite rims were chosen to complete the look.
